Ioanna Stefanoli, the first female student

Enrollment of the first female student, Ioanna Stefanapoli, at the Philosophy School. During the next decade, 13 female students attended classes in Philosophy, 8 in Medicine and 1 in Pharmaceutics. The efforts towards the enrollment of women at the University had begun as early as the 1870s but were always denied by the senate.
